EHS teams and EPCRA don’t always get along — and no wonder. For one thing, navigating EPCRA’s requirements for environmental compliance can be tricky and cumbersome. For another, Tier II reporting is a messy process, which gets messier when a company’s operations are spread out across multiple states.
And realistically, managing data, establishing standardized processes, and ensuring related tasks for EPCRA filings are getting done in a timely manner takes more bandwidth than many EHS teams have.
When we started Encamp, our premise was compliance reporting should be faster and simpler. We knew Tier II and other environmental compliance reports had to be accurate, complete, and submitted on time to mitigate the risks of non-compliance. So for EHS professionals, we set out to make EPCRA and Tier II compliance less cumbersome by standardizing the reporting process and automating report filings.
In honoring that premise, I’m proud to say we’ve had a strong start. The Encamp platform is already implemented in more than 200 enterprises, and users tell us they love it. And our commitment to continuous improvement means that we are optimizing our platform to make it even more functional and easier to use… which will always be our goal.
Encamp lets EHS teams track chemical products, inventories, thresholds, and Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) at every facility. This way, teams automate EPCRA compliance and:
Tracking down historical reports for knowledge sharing or internal or agency audits is time-consuming. But say good-bye to that whole scenario. EHS teams can maintain past Tier II reports directly in Encamp.
The value prop:
Regional and corporate EHS SMEs often have limited visibility into what’s happening at the facility level — until it’s too late. With the ability to add, manage, and track chemical inventories at the facility level, however, users know what’s happening at a facility at any given time. (We consider this a game changer for our customers.)
The value prop:
The next improvements on our enhancements path? First, we’re updating our data model and EPCRA dashboard to support year-round EPCRA reporting activities. We’re also working on functionality to regenerate notifications when an event’s list of Event Watchers changes in an assigned Calendar task.
With Encamp’s ongoing mission to create a world where good for business equals good for the environment, we know we can’t stop innovating our platform. And the exciting thing for EHS professionals and teams everywhere is that there’s still more to come. Promise!
I’m excited about where Encamp is today and where we are going over the next 12-24 months. I encourage readers to subscribe to our newsletter for great resources and thought leadership – and periodic company and product updates.
