Hazardous Air Pollutant (HAP)

Hazardous air pollutants are those that can cause cancer and other serious health impacts. HAPS, HAPs or HAP’s is the plural form used by most SME’s. E.g. Mercury (Hg), Lead (Pb), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Vanadium (V). US EPA through the Clean Air Act (CAA), is required to set limits for 187 HAP’s.
